A man suffered serious injuries after a car he was working on fell on top of him.

The incident took place at about 10.20am on Saturday, in Huntingdon, with the Magpas air ambulance called to attend the incident, alongside teams from the East of England Ambulance Service and Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service.

A spokesman for Magpas said: “We were called to treat a man, who had been working underneath a car he was restoring, when the jack failed and the car dropped on top of him.

“The Magpas enhanced medical team assessed the man, in his 60s, who had sustained serious chest injuries. They provided him with advanced pain relief before accompanying him to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in a land ambulance.”

The spokesman added that the man was in a stable condition on arrival at hospital.
