Emergency services have been called to reports of a collision involving a mobility scooter and a lorry in St Neots this morning (Wednesday).
Cambridgeshire police and the East of England Ambulance Service were called at about 8.20am to reports that a man riding a mobility scooter had been involved in a collision with a lorry.
The incident took place at the junction of Huntingdon Street and Cambridge Street. The road was closed by police while emergency crews worked at the scene.
It is understood that the Magpas air ambulance was also called to the scene.
A spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service said: “A man was trapped under a vehicle. He was conscious and breathing and was safely extricated before being taken by ambulance to Hinchingbrooke Hospital with a suspected minor head injury.”
Ste Greenall, who presents the Full English Breakfast Show, on Black Cat 107fm, which is based in St Neots, said “I was interviewing Tim Sargeant, from St Neots Town, live on air, when we heard a tremendous sound and the helicopter landed on the car park right outside our studio. The pilot did a great job landing in such a space.”
