A DIESEL spillage caused by a collision which involved two lorries caused traffic chaos on the A14 this morning.

Police say the road is likely to be shut for two or three hours while emergency services clean up the mess caused by the accident at Junction 27, near to Fenstanton, at 8am this morning (Friday, December 10).

No one was seriously injured in the crash, which involved a yellow tanker, but part of the westbound carriageway was closed so the oil spill could be cleaned up.

Diversions were in place around the scene of the accident but a fire service spokesman said a casualty was freed using specialist cutting equipment.

He added that fire fighters made the scene safe shortly after 9am.
