A DRUG dealer hid more than 35 wraps of cocaine and heroin in his body for 17 days after being caught near St Neots.

Abubakar Saddiq was stopped on the A1 at the Black Cat roundabout on July after officers received a tip-off that he was dealing drugs.

A wrap of drugs was found in his car but officers were suspicious that Saddiq had more concealed in his body when he refused a medical examination.

He was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to supply class A drugs and was kept under constant supervision and after 17 days in custody, the 21-year-old admitted concealing the drugs and 36 wraps were found.

Saddiq, of Bishops Raise, Hatfield, admitted possession with intent to supply heroin and cocaine at Huntingdon Magistrates’ Court this morning (Friday).

He will be sentenced at a later date and was remanded in custody.

The arrest was part of Operation Spartan, a crackdown on the supply of class A drugs in St Neots.

Detective Sergeant Iain Moor said: “This was an excellent result following a proactive stop search by officers.

“These drugs were worth about 3,500 and no matter how hard Abubakar Saddiq tried to hide these drugs we persevered.

“Saddiq was actively supplying class A drugs in the area. This case shows that no matter what drugs will not be tolerated in Huntingdonshire.”
