Festivities began on Friday with a fashion show at St Marys Church, before the popular parade and fete took centre stage on Saturday. There were dozens of stalls and games for visitors to enjoy, as well as a wide variety of acts including Samba and line dancing - to keep spirits high. This years event had a Rio-theme, inspired by the upcoming Olympic games, and the parade in particular was a colourful affair. On Sunday, the carnival came to a close with a café church event in the village hall. Pat King, organiser of the parade, said: It was a fantastic weekend. We had about 400 people helping and more than 2,000 who visited. It was the fourth running of the carnival, which raises funds for the village hall.
