POLICE have launched a fresh appeal for information after a man who suffered serious head injuries in St Neots in mysterious circumstances died.

John Lord, 59, from Little Paxton, was taken to hospital on December 14 after suffering head injuries outside the Tudor Rose Club, in Huntingdon Road, St Neots.

It is still unclear how he sustained the injuries and detectives are still trying to piece together the exact circumstances around the incident.

He was initially discharged from hospital but readmitted and died at Addenbrooke's Hospital on Monday (March 4).

It is not yet known whether he died as a result from the head injuries suffered in December.

Detective Inspector Jon McAdam, leading the investigation, said: "Our thoughts are with the family of Mr Lord. We have been continuing our investigation since the initial incident to try to piece together exactly what happened on that night in December. "A number of key individuals have been spoken to in relation to this incident and we are continuing our enquiries and speaking to other potential witnesses.

"We are still focused on establishing the facts about the incident on December 14 and there remain a number of people who we are still looking to speak with.

"We know there a number of people who either spoke to Mr Lord that night or were in the close proximity of where he was when he suffered the injuries.

"I would urge these people to come forward and speak to us."
