The St Ives branch of the charity organised the event on December 4, which saw more than 30 people dressed in Santa outfits running an eight kilometre course through the town and then onto Houghton and back again. This years event was the groups third, but members are already making plans for a bigger and better event in 2017 and will be publicising details in the new year. Branch chairman, Jean Chandler, said: It was a lovely event this year with bright sunshine and a good number of runners taking part. Were delighted to have raised an incredible amount of money for the BHFs lifesaving research. It was a great day and Im so pleased people turned out to fight heart disease, thank you to everyone who made it a success. We are looking for people to join our branch and help us organise this event and others throughout the year. Nigel Cole, BHF fundraising manager for Cambridgeshire and Bedfordshire, said: Were so grateful to the St Ives branch for organising the Santa Jog. Their incredible energy and enthusiasm is helping us win the fight for every heartbeat, and we would like to say a huge thank you to them for their on-going support. INFO.
