A pedestrian has died in a crash involving a bus on a busy A-road in Cambridgeshire.
The A14, near Cambridge, remains closed eastbound between Histon and Milton this afternoon (Saturday, September 12).
Cambridgeshire Police said officers are at the scene of an "ongoing fatal collision" and confirmed a pedestrian was "struck by a vehicle".
A spokesperson for the force confirmed a bus was involved in the crash and urged motorists to avoid the area.
The road is likely to remain closed for some time while police carry out collision investigation work, National Highways revealed.
"Cambridgeshire Police are leading the response to the incident and will be carrying out a full collision investigation," a spokesperson for the agency said.
"This is likely to take several hours and therefore the closure will be protracted."
Traffic is being diverted off at the Girton Interchange to use either the M11 southbound or the A1302 towards Cambridge.
