Drivers dropping children at a Huntingdonshire school have been warned about their bad parking, which is putting pupils and other road users at risk.
The school council at Round House Primary Academy in St Neots recently debated parents parking on double yellow lines and blocking the one-way road.
Rhys Thomas, a Year 4 teacher and the council’s staff facilitator, said the school had previously tackled the parking problem with letters to parents and carers.
He said the parking improves briefly after the letters are sent, but soon returns.

Now the young councillors have designed and commissioned a sign urging drivers to park considerately and stay off the double yellow lines on the narrow street.
The banner at the school entrance states: "Keep us safe! Do not park on the double yellow lines."
Rhys said the children asked Business Printing Company to donate towards the banner, but the firm provided it for free.
"We know parents are parking on the double yellow lines for convenience at drop off and pick up times, but they need to consider the safety of the pupils, and also other road users who find it difficult to get through," said Rhys.
He said a photo of the banner was posted on the school’s social media with the message about the poor parking, and it seemed to have had a positive effect.
"We have noticed that fewer people are parking on the double yellow lines and are using the car park instead; we just hope that continues," he said.
Police previously said they would warn parents before issuing £30 fines for inconsiderate parking outside primary schools in St Neots.
