Cambridge Magistrates’ Court, September 4

• Dennis Bettle, of Queensway, St Neots: charged with concealing a mobile phone with intent to pervert the course of public justice in Peterborough. No plea was entered and the case was sent to Cambridge Crown Court for a plea and trial preparation hearing on October 2, 2026. Bettle is also charged with making threats to kill two women in St Neots and intimidating one of them as a potential witness. No pleas were recorded. The cases were sent to Cambridge Crown Court, with Bettle remanded in custody ahead of the hearing on October 2.

• Tony Devlin, of no fixed abode in Huntingdon district: accused of twice breaching a criminal behaviour order by being intoxicated in Huntingdon town centre, including allegedly possessing an open vessel of alcohol on September 2. • Jamie Lewis, of Meldreth: admitted damaging a marked police vehicle, causing damage estimated at £160.09, in St Neots on August 17, 2025. He indicated a guilty plea on September 7.
• Jamie Lewis, of Meldreth: admitted making off without paying £30.01 for 21.45 litres of diesel in St Neots on August 18, 2025. He indicated a guilty plea on September 7.

Peterborough Magistrates’ Court, September 4

• James Cripps, of Marshalls Way, Farcet: faced allegations of damaging a custody cell in Peterborough, two public-order offences on August 17 and August 18, attempted criminal damage to a van window and common assault. No pleas were recorded. He was remanded in custody for a trial listed for October 8, 2026.

• Stuart Atkins, of Norwich: accused of exceeding a 60mph limit on the westbound A605 at Elton on August 8, 2025. The speeding allegation was dismissed after no evidence was offered. • Marli Peter Sawford Bates, of Abbotsley Road, Croxton, near St Neots: admitted using a hand-held mobile phone while driving on Queens Road, Cambridge, on July 10, 2025. He was fined £254, ordered to pay £130 in costs and a £98 surcharge, and received six penalty points. He is included because his recorded address is in Huntingdonshire.
• Jason King, recorded as living in Alder Close, St Neots: admitted driving on Blackpool Promenade with cannabis above the specified limit on March 24, 2025. He pleaded guilty on September 7.
