A school is celebrating national recognition for its performing arts programme.
Kimbolton School took home two awards at the National School Theatre Awards in London on June 22, winning Best Ensemble and Best Supporting Actor in a Musical.
The awards were part of five nominations for the Cambridgeshire school, which recognised the “talent, creativity and dedication” of its pupils.
The Best Supporting Actor award went to Tom B. for his performance as Nick in Come from Away.
Will Chuter, headteacher at Kimbolton School, said: "We are incredibly proud of all our pupils who have achieved such outstanding success in the performing arts this year.
"To receive national recognition at the National School Theatre Awards, alongside excellent results in other prestigious competitions and festivals, is a testament to the talent, commitment and passion of our young performers.
"These achievements highlight the strength of performing arts at Kimbolton School and the dedication of both students and staff."
This national recognition adds to a year of achievements for the school’s performers.
Earlier in June, Year 10 pupil Toby T placed second in the Trafalgar Theatre Group Monologue Competition in London.
He was selected from more than 4,000 entries and performed the role of Hannay from The 39 Steps in the regional semi-finals.
His performance in the national final earned him the runner-up position in his category.
The school also secured second place at the regional final of the All England Theatre Festival, outperforming two adult theatre groups.
The competition, which is in its eighth year, spans six months and gives amateur theatre groups the chance to compete at regional and national level.
During the festival, pupil Beau J was named Best Actor for his performance as Prior Walter in Angels in America.
