Huntingdon Town Council has appointed a new town clerk.
The council has been confirmed the permanent appointment of Nicola Webster following her time as acting clerk.
Ms Webster joined the council in November 2024 as locum town clerk, before becoming deputy town clerk in September 2025.
She took on the acting clerk role after the retirement of her predecessor in December 2025.
Her appointment follows a recruitment process in which three candidates were interviewed.
Ms Webster said: "I am honoured to be appointed as town clerk for Huntingdon Town Council.
"It has been a privilege to serve the council over the past year, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside councillors, staff, and residents to support the town and build on the progress already achieved."
She brings a wealth of experience from the wider local council sector, having previously served as clerk to several parish councils, including Great Shelford, Hilton, and Graveley.
She has also worked as a locum clerk and internal auditor for the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Association of Local Councils (CAPALC), where she advised on governance, compliance, and best practice.
Ms Webster holds a foundation degree in community governance and is a Fellow of the Society of Local Council Clerks (SLCC).
Her background also includes voluntary leadership, having served as chair of governors at Fenstanton and Hilton Primary School, chair of Hilton Feast Week CIC, and chair of The Hilton Village Hall Charity.

"She has demonstrated exceptional professionalism and dedication during her time with Huntingdon Town Council, particularly through her leadership as Acting Clerk.
