A Kimbolton School student has created a code-breaking competition to challenge pupils across Cambridgeshire.
This intellectual contest, forged by a Year 10 pupil, requires participants to solve 12 progressively complex challenges featuring ciphers from the late 19th century.
The entire competition bears the unique touch of the student, who has not only organised the contest but also penned the plaintext of each challenge.
The competition, which is open to any pupil from Cambridgeshire, has already attracted participants from three schools: The Perse School, St Peter's Huntingdon, and Kimbolton School itself.
The first practice challenge started on Tuesday, March 3, and the competition has already witnessed numerous successful submissions.
The contest, mainly targeted at pupils in Year 7 and above, extends a special invitation to those studying computer science or maths.
Participants can sign up to test their mettle against these historical ciphers at cambscipher.app.
In a statement, the student said one of their key priorities is to keep the competition free.
