As we come to the end of an extraordinary year, I’m delighted to share just how far Boomerang Radio has come since our launch—and how much we’re looking forward to 2026.
The response from listeners across Huntingdonshire and beyond has been nothing short of remarkable. What started as a passion project has rapidly grown into a vibrant, community-focused station with more than 20 presenters on board, bringing a fantastic mix of experience, personality, and familiar voices to our programmes.
Our team now includes former Hereward Radio and Lite FM presenters, ex-BBC talent, voices from Corby Radio, and of course many presenters you already know and love.
We’re also proud to be working closely with local businesses. The photo accompanying this column was taken at The Montague Care Home in Brampton, one of our valued sponsors.
Supporting local organisations and helping them share their stories is a big part of what makes Boomerang Radio different.
We don’t rely on faceless playlists or back-to-back tracks; we offer real presenters, real conversation, requests, dedications, and a genuine connection with our audience.
Looking ahead to 2026, we’re planning a series of outside broadcasts at events across the area. If your organisation would like to be involved, we’d love to hear from you. We’re also on the lookout for backroom volunteers to help with research and with our new What’s On bulletin, launching in the new year.
We’ll be on air throughout the Christmas period, and we always welcome your feedback - please do keep it coming. I’ve been genuinely blown away by how quickly the station has developed, and I’m excited for what’s next.
