Rock legend Paul Weller has been announced as a headliner for Bedford Summer Sessions.

The former frontman of The Jam will be performing a huge outdoor show in Bedford Park on Sunday, July 5, with tickets on sale from 10am this Friday (October 31).

Bedford Summer Sessions will also see Tom Grennan return to his hometown for a show on July 4, while UB40 with Ali Campbell will be performing on July 3.

Weller is among British music's best-loved artists, with his storied five decade career bringing him success with The Jam and The Style Council, as well as an impressive solo career.

The Jam released six albums between 1977 and 1982, with their final album topping the UK album charts, while the band also secured four chart-topping singles.

Hits such as Town Called Malice, Going Underground and That's Entertainment are considered rock classics, while the band still garners a cult mod following.

Weller would see further success alongside Mike Talbot as The Style Council, while his solo career has produced an impressive six UK number one albums.
