Sawtry Junior Academy has welcomed its new headteacher.
Jonathan Callender, former principal of Rushmere Park Academy in Bedfordshire, has taken the helm at the school.
Mr Callender brings extensive leadership experience with him and looks forward to guiding the academy, part of the Meridian Trust, into a new chapter.
Mr Callender said: "I feel incredibly privileged to be joining Sawtry Junior Academy as headteacher.
"The school has such a strong sense of community, and I have already seen the passion that staff, pupils, and families bring to everything they do.
"I have been particularly impressed by how supportive and thoughtful the children are, and by their ambitious outlook for the future."
His appointment follows the interim leadership of Rhys Thrower and Jonathan Clarke, who maintained stability and continuity throughout the summer term.
Based in Sawtry village and near the trust’s head office, the academy benefits from the trust's strong support network.

Sawtry Junior Academy is one of 32 schools within Meridian Trust, which spans Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, Peterborough, and neighbouring areas.
With Jonathan Callender now in post, it looks forward to working with colleagues across the Trust to continue providing the very best for its pupils and community.
