A quiet candlelit vigil will take place to mark 80 years since the end of the Second World War.
The VJ Day 80 Sunset Vigil will be held in Huntingdon on Friday, August 15 at the Priory Road Cemetery, beginning at 7.30pm.
Organised by Huntingdon Town Council, the event will include a short service outside the chapel and an opportunity for members of the public to lay candles on the Commonwealth War Graves.
Cllr Audrey McAdam, mayor of Huntingdon, said: "This year’s commemorations are a reminder of the sacrifices made by a generation across all theatres of war.
"We hope the Sunset Vigil will offer a quiet, respectful opportunity to pause, reflect, and remember those who served and those who never came home."
A wreath-laying ceremony will also be held earlier in the day at Huntingdon Market Square at 10.55am, followed by a two-minute silence at 11am.
The events are open to all, with no booking required.
Battery-operated tealights will be provided at the cemetery for those wishing to take part in the vigil.
Visitors are advised to take care, as ground conditions may be uneven and lighting will be limited.
