A district council has promised enforcement action over bad parking in a Huntingdonshire town after a "bitter" complaint from a resident.
Val Thompson has written to Huntingdonshire District Council to complain about the state of parking in Ramsey.
She said: "I want to complain bitterly about the parking on the streets of Ramsey.
"I have been out today and along the High Street-opposite Goldilox - there are double yellow lines.
"Every week when I go to that part of the town, and today was no different, there are vehicles - some quite large like SUVs-parked not only on the double yellow lines but also on the pavement, which in itself is quite dangerous.
"Trying to cross the road is a case of taking your life in your hands at times as you have to go between cars to see what is coming, and despite so-called 20 mph signs, vehicles continue to speed.

"Also, vehicles park right up to junctions throughout the town - Whytefield Road being just one major place in question.
"We have so-called 20mph restrictions and double yellow lines but no one to enforce this at all - is there ever likely to be a warden in the town?
"Any fines handed out to these offending vehicles could certainly mount up, and also, if a warden came intermittently so that people would not know when they would be there, that would also help.
"Ramsey and the surrounding areas are ever expanding, so this is something that will not improve unless something is done as it is dangerous.
A spokesperson for Huntingdonshire District Council said in response: "We note your comments and this information will be used for route planning once we begin enforcement of on-street offences."
The council is set to carry out civil parking enforcement from this month, but Val said: "It says on the website they will be giving four weeks' notice before they start enforcing parking - but I haven't seen any signs up in Ramsey.
"This is an important issue as it is dangerous for people if they have to walk on the road to get around parked cars, or if they have to step between parked cars to cross the road.
"I just hope the council does act, and they act soon."
