An influencer and campaigner visited the UK's longest-running animal rights protest camp this week.
Animal welfare advocate Jodie Dyer visited Camp Beagle on July 8 to lend her voice to its ongoing campaign to close MBR Acres.
Dyer spent several hours at meeting activists and being shown where beagles used for laboratory testing are bred.
The eight-acre puppy breeding facility is located on Sawtry Way and owned by US corporation Marshall Bioresources.
With more than 2.9million followers on TikTok, Dyer founded Jodie's Cyprus Dogs Rehoming, which rescues dogs abandoned and mistreated abroad.
She said: "Whether in Cyprus or Cambridgeshire, dogs deserve compassion—not cages. The beagles at MBR Acres represent the worst betrayal of trust; they need our voices now more than ever.
"No more puppies suffering behind these gates. We’re here to stand with the brave campaigners of Camp Beagle—and demand the facility be shut down once and for all."
Her visit comes just weeks after the protest group marked four years since its formation with a protest outside the site on June 28.
Activists were joined by theatre actor and former husband of comedian Alan Carr, Paul Drayton - who paid his “first visit” to the site - and singer Simon King.
Camp Beagle was founded in 2021 shortly after footage of beagles inside the facility was obtained, prompting regular demonstrations outside the site.
It has maintained a permanent presence with the demand to close the facility and end the use of beagles for research purposes.
A spokesperson for Camp Beagle said: "Jodie’s support is a powerful boost — her platform will help us reach new audiences and put even more pressure on MBR and the Government.
"Our demand remains clear: stop testing on dogs immediately and end all animal testing for scientific purposes."
This is not the first time a celebrity has visited the site, with Eastenders actor Jessie Wallace visiting the group in May.
Adventurer and author Kyle Thomas met with the group's activists in March and offered his support for their campaign.
Camp Beagle is behind a recently launched petition which has amassed close to 250,000 signatures, prompting a debate around animal testing in Parliament.
In April, around 300 animal activists assembled outside MBR Acres to protest against the work of the puppy breeding facility.
It was described as the "biggest demonstration against animal experiments that his county has seen for decades."
