The new Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Huntingdon for 2025-26 have been elected.
Following an Annual Meeting at Huntingdon Town Council on May 1, 2025, Cllr Audrey McAdam was elected Mayor of Huntingdon.
Her Deputy Mayor is Cllr Patrick Kadewere.
Cllr Audrey McAdam has served as a Town Councillor since October 2020, and was Deputy Mayor in 2022-23 and 2024-25.
She is part of the Rubbish Rebels, a litter picking group, and fundraises for local charities through crafting activities.
Cllr Audrey McAdam said: "It’s an honour to be elected Mayor of Huntingdon, and I’m looking forward to continuing to serve the town I love.
"I’m proud to call this community home, and I’ll work hard to support the people and places that make it special.
"Whether it’s tackling litter, supporting local charities, or helping bring people together, I want to champion the amazing efforts already happening across our town."
Cllr Patrick Kadewere has served as a Town Councillor since 2011 and is also a Huntingdonshire District Councillor for the ward.
He is involved with the Oxmoor Community Fridge and other local projects.
The outgoing Mayor, Cllr Karl Brockett presented cheques of £2,320 each to his four charities, Royal British Legion (Huntingdon Branch), Dreamdrops, Hunts Forum and Young Lives vs Cancer (Veronica Claxton Memorial Fund).
It is estimated that, through a combination of direct fundraising and in-kind contributions, Cllr Brockett has raised or secured over £26,000 during his Mayoral year.
The Community Shield was presented to John Daniels for his hard work and effort to support abused children.
The Cromwell Museum’s Learning and Communities Officer, Kristina Kapitza, attended the meeting on behalf of the Cromwell Museum trustees, to make the annual payment of one peppercorn per annum to Huntingdon Town Council for the rent of the Cromwell Museum.
Cllr Steve McAdam, who is Cllr Audrey McAdam's husband, will serve as Mayor's Consort.
Cllr Marian Kadewere will support her husband, Cllr Patrick Kadewere, as Deputy Mayoress of Huntingdon.
David Tilbury was appointed as Macebearer, and Rev Jon Randall as the Mayor's Chaplain. An air cadet will be appointed as the Mayor's Cadet.
The new Mayoral Charities are Woodgreen Animal Shelter, Huntingdon Neurotherapy Centre and St Mary's Church Restoration Fund.
