A local theatre group is preparing to stage the musical Sister Act.

The Centre Theatre Players are currently rehearsing the divine musical comedy, which will be performed at One Leisure, St Ives, from May 8 to 10.

The show, based on the hit 1992 film, has enjoyed global success since its first performance in October 2006.

The musical is described as "joyous and uplifting," with a promise to "raise the spirits and warm the soul."
