We were very sad to hear that one of Huntingdon’s best loved local charities Shopmobility has made the decision to close its doors at the end of this month.
They were the very first Charity of the Month in January 2022 which we supported when we started actively promoting what local volunteers achieve in our locality.
We continue to encourage local charities, society’s and clubs through this scheme.
Every first Wednesday of the month our presenter, Norman Knapper talks to the nominated month’s charity.
This month it’s the turn of the new Huntingdon branch of the Women’s Institute.

There are over 300 community radio stations in the UK and HCR104fm are one of the very few which has its very own drama department.
Wavelengths Productions lead by Sue Rodwell-Smith, its production manager, who produces and directs our gold award winning soap drama Huntsford, managing a team of 30 people.
Huntsford, an original soap drama, is set in a fictitious market town called by the same name and is broadcast twice a week with an omnibus edition on a Sunday afternoon.
HCR104fm is run by unpaid volunteers and we are currently working towards raising money to refresh our studio equipment.
On Friday, March 28, we are hosting in conjunction with local comedy promoters Jubado’s, and together with the mayor of Huntingdon’s charities, a Comedy Night in The Assembly Room at Huntingdon Town Hall.
Doors open at 6.30 pm, and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 and can be purchased at: ticketsource.co.uk/jubados.
