Bill Hensley, station manager for Huntingdon Community Radio, says the team are looking forward to attending lots of events this summer.
HCR104fm is excited to announce its return to community events this summer, thanks to the generous support of local organisations.
Recent donations from Huntingdon Round Table and the Rotary Clubs of Huntingdon Cromwell and Ramsey have enabled the station to purchase new portable digital equipment.
These cutting-edge items will allow us to broadcast live from both indoor and outdoor events across our broadcast area.
Plans are already underway for HCR104fm to attend The Armed Forces Day and the Riverport Jazz Festival, with more events to follow. If you’d like us to consider broadcasting live from your event, email us at: martin.west@hcrfm.co.uk.
Fundraising for the Future
Our efforts to improve the station don’t stop there! We are now working to raise funds to refresh some of our studio equipment. This will future-proof the station, ensuring high-quality broadcasting for years to come.
To support this goal, local comedy promoters Jubado’s, in association with the mayor of Huntingdon’s charities, are hosting a Comedy Night in The Assembly Room at Huntingdon Town Hall on March 28.
Doors open at 6.30 pm, and the show starts at 7.30pm. Tickets are priced at £10 and can be purchased at: ticketsource.co.uk/jubados. Don’t miss this evening of laughter for a great cause!
Celebrating Local Talent
Our Spotlight show, airing on Fridays from 8pm till 10pm is a magazine-style program that shines a light on local singer-songwriters. The show provides a platform for musicians to have their music played on air and, in some cases, perform live in the studio.
Recent guests include the incredible local band Iona Sky and award-winning artist Lorenza Wildcard from Cambridge. If you’re a musician and would like your work to be considered for airplay, send your tracks in MP3 format to: spotlight@hcrfm.co.uk. Tune in on Fridays and be amazed by the exceptional talent in our community!
