A Rotary Club’s new group has had great success in the community within just one year of running.
The Impact Group, formed by members of St Neots Rotary Club, has recruited nine members since it launched in 2023.
Boasting successful community contributions and social fun, the group carries a record of effective service with minimal time commitment.
They seem to have struck a balance between work and play.
The group has made significant strides in raising funds for community causes.
In the time they've operated, they have accumulated an impressive sum of more than £4,000.
This money was funnelled into worthwhile causes, including a significant contribution to the Rotary Coats4kids initiative.
This donation was used to provide warm, waterproof coats to school children in the St Neots area.
But beyond their actions in the community, the group has organised events to unite locals together.
They have successfully organised a comedy showcase evening that had more than 100 people in attendance.
Earlier this year, they also arranged a traditional race night that was exceptionally well received.
Broadening their service beyond St Neots, the Impact group has gathered unwanted tools and shipped them to Tools with a Mission (TWAM).
This initiative aids in establishing new entrepreneurial undertakings in Africa.
As for their upcoming events, they include another comedy showcase on September 20, which will raise funds for Coats4kids and JOCA (a mental health support charity).
On October 4, there's a wine tasting evening and an Impact information session.
Come November 7, they're participating in indoor bowls, before wrapping up the year with a Christmas dinner on December 5.
The group encourages those interested in joining their charitable mission to reach them at: martin@rotarystneots.org.uk.
In addition to providing crucial community services, the group also promises fun-filled, socially engaging interactions as an added perk.
