The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning with heavy rain expected across Cambridgeshire. 

The alert was in force as of 12:15am and is expected to last until 12pm on Thursday May 23. 

An amber weather warning has also been issued by the Met Office and covers part of the country.

The locations issued the amber warning for parts of north Wales and north west England, including Liverpool and Manchester, for 24 hours from noon on Wednesday.

The Met Office warns that heavy rain could cause flooding and disruption to travel, with homes and business at risk of damage. 

Delays or cancellations to train and bus services are possible.

In Cambridgeshire, outbreaks of rain are expected for large parts of the day, with Peterborough and Ely experiencing their heaviest downpours this morning, with lighter showers expected heading into this evening.
