Sixth formers and teachers at Longsands Academy in St Neots, took part in an annual paint run event to raise funds for the Year 13 Prom.

The run is organised by the Prom committee every year.

Students, joined by some members of staff, ran 2km around the school and dodged coloured powdered paints along the route.

The students have also set up a Go Fund Me to help raise money for the prom, which you can find by clicking here.

So far, they've raised £2,200.

The students have also held two inter-year football matches between Year 12 and 13, had a Valentines and Easter themed bake sale, and a raffle.

Dr Catherine Cusick, principal at Longsands said: “I hope their paint run, coupled with all the other projects they have organised this year means our aspirational students get the celebration they very much deserve.”

Carter, a sixth form student at Longsands said: “It was a great way to raise money for the school prom and quite a unique experience.

"Being pelted with paint whilst running was quite fun and great for pictures at the end.”
