The much-loved escape room, Jailbreak, returns to St Neots Museum again this year.

Set in 1885, a St Neots landowner by the name of Mr G O Newton has some trouble with his estate.

His gamekeeper spots three poachers on his land, trying to steal his game. After a "fierce encounter", the gamekeeper received serious injuries.

Three local men have been committed to the Assizes and charged with attempted murder. They've since been sentenced, with one facing five years and the other two facing 18 months.

Further enquiries have revealed that the group of villains had some outside help, and the groups brave enough to tackle the escape room will face questioning.

Groups will be joined by a "sparse and inefficient" local constabulary, who will take them upstairs for forensic examining - after that, the groups may well be left abandoned in a cell.

Groups will be locked upstairs in the Village Hall Gallery at the Museum, and will have 60 minutes to escape.

They'll have to escape the Gallery, break into the cell corridor, and escape the main cell gate.

The escape room is set in a real Victorian police cell that was once used in the town.

The St Neots Museum itself was once a former police station and law court.

There will be 'wardens' on hand throughout the sessions who will be dressed for the part and ready to give a theatrical take on the briefing.

Season Six of Jailbreak will run until June 30 at St Neots Museum and sessions run from 4:45pm - 10pm.

Tickets are available to purchase now, with prices as follows: £110 for groups of five or more (maximum eight), and £90 for smaller groups.

Further information about Jailbreak is available on the St Neots Museum website, including disability access, minimum age, and prizes.
