There will be a great treat in store for Gilbert & Sullivan fans when ‘The Wandering Minstrels’ perform a fundraising concert at Sutton Village Hall near Sandy on Saturday April 27.

They will sing, act and dance their way through many of the Savoy Operas including ‘The Gondoliers’, ‘HMS Pinafore’, ‘The Pirates of Penzance’, ‘Iolanthe’, ‘The Mikado’, ‘Utopia, Limited’ and

‘The Yeomen of the Guard’. Artistes appearing in this Gala concert will be Helen Winter, Alexandra Ferrari, Charles Mills and Tim Hurst-Brown, with Peter Hewitt at the piano.

The concert begins at 7.30pm and proceeds are in aid of Sutton Church.

Tim Hurst-Brown, of the group, said: "It is a light-hearted evening of songs and scenes from the Gilbert and Sullivan comic operas, delightfully staged and presented in period costume.

"The event consists of two hours of Savoy favourites, combining the biting wit of W. S. Gilbert and the enchanting music of Sir Arthur Sullivan.

"Members of the public are advised to purchase their tickets early as space in the Hall is limited and the concert is bound to be very popular.

"Don’t miss what promises to be a fun-filled evening."

Tickets for the concert are £12.50 and can be purchased by ringing John on 07786657029. There will be a licensed bar.
