Staff at Huntingdonshire District Council (HDC) are set to get a pay boost.

It comes after HDC, Unison and the council’s Employee Representatives Group agreed a pay award for 2024-25.

Following discussions, a joint pay award was put forward to staff and has been agreed.

A spokesperson for HDC said: "The agreement reflects the rising cost of living for council employees.

"It also remains affordable for the council, allowing vital public services to be maintained."

Executive Councillor Lara Davenport Ray, cabinet member for human resources at HDC, said: "Our staff play a crucial role in serving our communities.

"The support our council provides to local people is only possible because of the hard work and dedication of our employees.

"It is only fitting that we recognise and reward their efforts appropriately.

“We are the first authority in Cambridgeshire to agree our pay award for 2024-25.

"This achievement demonstrates our commitment to creating a positive working environment and ensuring that our staff feel valued and motivated.”
