150 trees have been planted at Hinchingbrooke Hospital thanks to a donation from the charity, NHS Forests.
Hinchingbrooke Hospital applied to the charity for the trees to create a greener environment at the hospital.
The charity then donated the 150 trees, which are a mix of hawthorn, hazel, rowan, silver birch and wild child trees.
The mix of trees was specifically chosen to "beautify" the site, as well as provide extra food and habitat for wildlife near the hospital.
Local contractors from Construct and Brookfields, who were already working on other projects on the hospital site, took the time to plant the trees on the site.
The charity, NHS Forests, works to transform green spaces across NHS hospitals.
Some of their projects include peaceful gardens, woodlands and orchards, native wildflower meadows, and nature-based play projects.
David Moss, Director of Estates and Facilities, stated “We’re thrilled to have 150 new trees at Hinchingbrooke Hospital and would like to thank everyone that’s been involved."
