To celebrate International Women's Day (March 8), Huntingdon Town Council will host a Women in Local Government Talk at Huntingdon Town Hall.

The talk will feature a panel of inspiring women who will be speaking about their experience within local government.

Councillor Georgie Hunt, the keynote speaker at the talk, will be sharing the story of her journey to becoming a Town Councillor, and why it's important to "inspire inclusion".

Councillor Ann Blackwell (Huntingdon Town and District Councillor), Councillor Padrica Kennington (Huntingdon Town Councillor and former Deputy Mayor) and Michelle Sacks (Chief Executive of Huntingdonshire District Council) will be on the panel to talk about their experiences and journeys into local government.

A spokesperson for Huntingdon Town Council said: "The event will highlight the significant impact women can have to enact change within local government, and hopefully to encourage more women to get involved, either as volunteers, staff or possibly future councillors."

The talk will place at 7pm on International Women's Day.
