Tom Burke, from Cambridge, won a big cash prize in a photography competition for his stunning photograph of Cambourne Nature Reserve. 

The competition was organised by Uplands Place Retirement Living development in Cambourne.

The competition invited locals to take and share photographs of their favourite scenery, wildlife and landscapes of the local area.

Tom's stunning photograph is of the sunrise over Cambourne Nature Reserve. 

While out with his dog, Bear, Tom spotted the beautiful sunrise and decided to take a snap and enter it into the competition.

The photograph won the most votes from McCarthy Stone staff and home owners at Upland Place.

Tom said: "It’s a bit of a running joke in our family that I take a bad photograph, but it’s never stopped me giving it a go."

He added that the nature reserve is a "special place" for him, as it's where he walks Bear and goes for picnics with his daughter, Mia.

For is efforts, Tom won a £250 cash prize, which he plans to spend on Bear, and Mia, by taking her to Alton Towers.
