Police are urging people to be vigilant after a spate of courier fraud incidents, including one in Cambridgeshire where a victim lost more than £1.5million.
Reports show victims have been contacted by criminals purporting to be from the police or the bank, claiming their accounts have been taken over by fraudsters.
Victims have then been coerced to transfer money and/or buy gold bullion and jewellery to aid the investigation.
Criminals have then posed as couriers to collect these valuable items from their homes.
