Crews from Dogsthorpe, Stanground, the Peterborough Volunteer Fire Brigade, Sawtry, March and Huntingdon, along with Market Deeping and Crowland in Lincolnshire, attended the incident.
Wearing specialist breathing apparatus, they extinguished the fire using hose reels and jets, along with the turntable ladder to tackle the fire from above.
On its Facebook page, Policing Peterborough advised nearby residents to avoid the area, and to keep their doors and windows closed to avoid the smoke.
The road was also closed to allow firefighters to deal with the blaze.
Fire crews also remained at the scene throughout the night to make sure the area was safe and the fire was fully extinguished.
The fire service is now carrying out an investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
A Cambridgeshire Police spokesperson added no injuries were reported at the scene and no arrests made.
