A teacher from Brampton has raised over £4,000 for the men’s mental health charity CALM.

Dominic Farr, a teacher from St. Ivo Academy, has run 5km every day this year to raise money for men’s mental health and he shows no signs of slowing down.

Nothing has been able to stop Dominic in his fundraising challenge which began on January 1.

He has already run over 1,500km already this year. Including an early morning run during his best friend's stag do in Portugal, and even in minus 10 degrees on a school trip to the Italian mountains.

Nothing has damped Dominic’s spirit so far, and the final week of his challenge will be the most gruelling yet.

Starting on Christmas Day, Dominic will be running a half marathon every day, ending his challenge on New Year’s Eve (December 31) when he will run a full marathon.

Dominic said he won’t be shying away from a proper Christmas celebration, dinner included, as he is getting support from friends and family who will be joining him over his final week of runs.

Dominic has started a community running group who meet at The Black Bull, Brampton to run and discuss mental health.

On New Year’s Eve’s full marathon day, Dominic is inviting members of the community to join him along his route. The run will begin at The Black Bull.

On running for an entire year Dominic said he is a lot fitter, and a lot happier “just to help one person makes it all worth it.”

“Even a short run is a positive physically and mentally…There is never a bad run," he said.
