Huntingdon Rotary Club has received 40 pots of Hyacinth bulbs from Notcutts Garden Centre in Brampton as part of an annual Christmas gift tradition. 

The donation marks a significant contribution to the rotary club’s longstanding tradition of spreading festive cheer among the bling and partially sighted residents of Brampton and Huntingdon.

Every year, the rotary club organises the distribution of these vibrant Hyacinth bulbs as special Christmas gifts to visually impaired members of the community.  

Ted Cooper plays a pivotal role, organising the distribution of the bulbs to ensure they reach those who will appreciate the fragrant blossoms. 

President of Huntingdon Rotary Club, Peter Downes, expessed his delight as he collected the bulbs. 

He said: "We are immensely thankful to Notcutts Garden Centre for their support. The Hyacinth bulbs not only bring joy and festive spirit to our community but also serve as a thoughtful gesture to those who may face additional challenges during the holiday season." 

General manager of Notcutts Garden Centre, Jo Hawkins-McDowellshared her enthusiasm for supporting such a meaningful initiative. 

She said: “We are honoured to contribute to the Huntingdon Rotary Club's Christmas tradition by providing these hyacinth bulbs.  

“It's heartening to know that our small gesture can make a big difference in brightening the holiday season for those in our community."
