A family has decorated their home with an incredible display of Christmas lights to raise funds for a charity supporting their son.

John Grace and his wife Freda, from Sawtry, spent a month putting up hundreds of lights including light-up figures and Christmas trees.

The village community came together to admire their efforts at switch-on event in Green End Road on December 1.

The cause is helping their eldest child Sydney who has cerebral palsy by providing him with a suitable bed and dining chair.

John said: “We have done some kind of charity display at all our homes – but this is particularly special because it’s our forever home and Newlife obviously means a lot to us.

“You also can't beat the joy you see on the faces of school children when they look at the Christmas lights.

“We now spend our evenings and any spare moment maintaining the display – but it’s certainly worth the effort.”
