As we head towards the end of the year, there is always chance to reflect on the things that have been achieved over the last 12 months as well as look ahead to the year to come.

At the beginning of this year, we unveiled our new Corporate Plan - a blueprint for the future that outlines seven key outcomes we aim to achieve.

These outcomes cover a broad spectrum, from improving the happiness and wellbeing of residents to delivering high value-for-money services with compliance to statutory obligations.

Each of these areas is crucial to the development of a better, greener, and fairer Huntingdonshire.

Now, as we look ahead to 2024, we will be developing further actions that will guide our path forward.

This is where you come in. Your insights, opinions, and perspectives are invaluable in ensuring that our priorities continue to align with your needs, aspirations, and concerns.

We have launched a short online survey that provides a platform for you to have your say. It's a chance to let us know which of our priorities matters most to you and how we can enhance the services that directly impact your lives.

'Working together’ is an overarching principle for the council. We cannot go it alone. The challenges we face can only be solved through working collaboratively.

Do, enable and influence is a key phrase for us as our Corporate Plan calls on the council to play more of an enabling role, to make more use of partnership working and to empower people to reduce demand for traditional public services.

Our role is to help residents and businesses thrive, but that is not something we can do to people.

Only by working with people can we make sure Huntingdonshire is a place where you and your family can have a good life and take advantage of the options that benefit you.

This feedback will not only influence the actions outlined in our Corporate Plan for the upcoming year but will also play a role in shaping our budget proposals for 2024/25 and beyond.

This comes at a crucial period as we enter this year's budget preparation as it is unlikely that we will find out what funding the Government will provide until Christmas Eve.

The survey is open until Wednesday, November 29 and I encourage each and every one of you to take a few moments to participate. Let's shape the future of Huntingdonshire together. To take part in the survey, please visit: https://letstalkhuntingdonshire.net/
