Residents at a Huntingdon care home came together to share some unique and heart-warming advice to mark World Mental Health Day earlier this month.

With an average age of 85, The Chase care home residents decided to share their years of wisdom and best self-care tips with the younger generation.

Anne, who is 92, said: "You’ve got to keep your sense of humour; life is too short not to."

In support of World Mental Health Day, staff at The Chase also pledged a ‘mini mindfulness moment’ for local NHS staff:

The home offered a complimentary two-course lunch and spa treatments, exclusively for staff at local hospitals, blue light workers and anyone who works for the NHS across the local area.

Catherine Frost, general manager at The Chase, said: “We were so excited to offer our very own ‘mini mindfulness moment’ for staff at the local hospitals, blue light services and the NHS.

"Everyday, they go above and beyond for our local community and we’re proud to be able to give them an opportunity to rest, relax and rejuvenate, all from the comfort of our care home.

“Wellbeing and taking care of yourself is important at any age, but especially as you get older.

"That’s why spending time with our residents and sharing their positive words of wisdom and their life experiences is so very important.

"If our residents’ advice could help even one person who may be feeling low, isolated or struggling with their mental health, it would be an incredible outcome.”
