HCR104fm continues to support our local charities in and around Huntingdon and we’re proud to be associated with Huntingdon MS Society, says station manager Bill Hensley.

The charity is part of a large nationwide network providing support to families and loved ones to live well with MS.

No-one should face multiple sclerosis alone and it provides information on local services together with giving an opportunity to people affected by MS in the community to share experiences.

On October 4, our presenter Norman Knapper was pleased to be able to talk to a representative of the Society on our flagship community access programme Over to You and if you missed it, you can catch up with the broadcast on our ‘listen again’ facility at: www.hcrfm.co.uk.

You can also access more information on the society’s website at: www.mssociety.org.uk/care-and-support/local-support/local-groups/huntingdon-district-group.

If you’re keen to be part of local radio, we are always on the look-out for volunteers to do research, produce and present programmes.

If you want to know more contact me on: 07767 823424 or email: bill.hensley@hcrfm.co.uk for a chat. The only qualification required is that you must be over 18 years of age. You can also use the ‘join us’ tab on our website at: www.hcrfm.co.uk/join-us

We are currently planning our Christmas open day at the studio when members of the public will be made most welcome with a mince pie, coffee tea or juice and of course, a chance to record a Christmas message for families and friends which will be played during our daytime shows up to Christmas Day.

This will take place on Saturday, December 9, at the Saxongate Building in Bradbury place. Why not pop in from 10am, say hello and see our presenters as they are live on air? We hope to see you there - but we will remind you of the event in next month’s column.

Keep listening and thank you for supporting your truly local radio station!
