St Ives Swimmers competed in the first major open meet at the Cambridge Grand Prix at Parkside pool over the weekend.

Tom McNeill, Oliver McNeill, Bertie Titheridge, Ewan Thompson, Lois Cannon, Chloe Butler, Anna Desborough, Oliver Dickson, Hannah Pye and Lexi Harrison competed excellently taking a number of medals and lifetime best swims to boot:

  • Bertie Titheridge: bronze: 100 freestyle
  • Chloe Butler: silver: 50 breastroke
  • Chloe Butler: bronze: 100 butterfly
  • Chloe Butler: bronze: 50 breastroke Final
  • Chloe Butler: silver: 200 breastroke
  • Ewan Thompson: silver: 200 individual medley
  • Ewan Thompson: bronze: 100 butterfly
  • Ewan Thompson: bronze: 100 butterfly final
  • Bertie Titheridge: bronze: 50 freestyle
  • Ewan Thompson: bronze: 100 backstroke final

A great weekend of swimming is to be followed up next weekend at the March Marlins Open Meet at Whittlesey with more than 40 St Ives Swimmers competing.

William Roberts also competed at the Corby open meet this weekend where he won the bronze medal in his age group for the 100 backstroke.

He also achieved further lifetime best swims, taking off over three seconds from his 200 freestyle.

A superb weekend of swimming all around from the club members.
