A refugee from Ukrain has set up his own gardening business following a heart-warming donation of supplies from Notcutts Brampton Garden Centre.

Vitalii Chornyi was determined to establish his own gardening business in Brampton but was facing the challenge of acquiring all the necessary tools and equipment to get started.

Peter Menczer, from the Brampton Village Hub, has been supporting the Ukrainian family since they arrived in the UK, and he approached Notcutts for their help.

Notcutts were eager to support Vitalii in his new business, and the garden centre has since donated a range of gardening tools and supplies including a wheelbarrow, wellington boots, knee pads and a high-vis jacket.

Jo Hawkins-McDowell, garden centre manager, said: "We are delighted to support Vitalii in his journey to establish a successful gardening business. At Notcutts, we believe in nurturing and fostering local talent and entrepreneurship and we are proud to be a part of this heart-warming community initiative.

“We encourage our Brampton neighbours to rally behind Vitalii so if you have any gardening jobs which need doing, let us know and we can put you in touch with him."
