An employee from a St Neots-based business is set to take part in a trek led by Giovanna Fletcher to raise money for breast cancer awareness charity CoppaFeel!.

Antylia Scientific has supported Michelle Moore's fundraising efforts for CoppaFeel in the build-up to the trek, helping her raise more than £3,900.

CoppaFeel is a charity that encourages people to check themselves regularly for the signs and symptoms of breast cancer, and Michelle said Antylia's fundraising help to the charity has been "amazing".

Thanks to the bake sale full of delicious goods, Michelle smashed her original fundraising target of £2,750 and is now raring to go on the 'CoppaTrek! Tour Du Mont Blanc', which starts today from September 11-15, across the French Alps.

Michelle will join 100 others on the trek, led by I'm a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here 2020 winner Giovanna Fletcher.

Michelle's story

Michelle described her own story: "In April 2021, I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer after finding a lump in my right breast.

"I had no family history of breast cancer and was under 40 at the time, so a cancer diagnosis was very unexpected, but it was down to CoppaFeel! 's breast awareness campaigns that I was able to recognise the signs and get diagnosed fast.

"I underwent a year of treatment, including six months of chemotherapy to attack the cancer cells, and as I had found my lump early, these treatments successfully shrank my lump so that surgery and radiotherapy could remove what was left.

"I applied for this year's CoppaTrek! as I know how important being breast-aware is for everyone - no matter your age, genetics or gender.

"My fitness levels are still a long way off what they were before treatment, so this challenge is going to be tough, but being selected for this year's trek is amazing."
