Discover bpha’s Mill View – a retirement community that offers personalised care and social activities for independent living.

As we approach our golden years, choosing the right retirement destination is crucial to ensure that we lead the life we want to lead.

Architect Frank Lloyd Wright once said: “The longer I live, the more beautiful life becomes.”

Nowhere is that more apparent than at Mill View, a purpose-built, self-contained community development designed by bpha exclusively for those over 55.

Located in Hauxton Meadows outside the city of Cambridge, Mill View offers modern one and two-bedroom apartments with access to care and support services tailored to residents’ individual needs. Apartments are available with shared ownership schemes of 75% or 50%, as well as rental options.

Moving in

For those who have decided to join Mill View’s vibrant retirement community, bpha offers many services to ensure that residents are properly cared for as they relocate.

Before you move in, the team ensures that each accommodation receives a full check and deep clean so that it is in perfect condition prior to your arrival. As you’re settling into your new home, full support is offered for three months after move-in to address any teething problems.

The moving process can also be supported by external providers when requested. More information can be obtained from your dedicated independent living sales advisor.

Community benefits

When you join the Mill View community, you are invited to join a dynamic social scene with plenty of opportunities for stimulating activities. Whether you enjoy bridge, bowls or pilates or want to join a book club, get fit or experiment with arts and crafts, Mill View’s residents committee offers a diverse array of options to keep retirees active and fulfilled.

The on-site restaurant offers a three-course meal cooked for you every day at lunchtime or sandwiches delivered to your apartment in the evening, which is included in the service charge. Air-conditioned communal lounges equipped with Wi-Fi offer the perfect spot to relax in the summer, while the rooftop garden terrace is a luxurious spot to bask in the sunshine.

Further facilities include a village shop and hair salon, with a regular visiting nail technician, and a guest room is also available for booking when you’re expecting a visit from a loved one.

And in the charming village of Hauxton, residents can savour the enjoyment of local museums, cafés and public houses to their heart’s delight.

On-site support

Residents can rest easy at Mill View, safe in the knowledge that professional support is always at their fingertips with a 24-hour emergency response service and on-site care, providing peace of mind just in case.

The scheme manager also holds regular office hours to ensure your voice is heard and a dial-a-ride service is available every Tuesday morning, which residents can use to visit local supermarkets.

The self-contained building comprising four floors also provides security and privacy, and includes a communal laundry facility and mobility scooter storage.

Retirement living sales advisor Janet Bennett said: “I have known people that moved in saying it’s a liberating feeling, selling their home and moving forward and when they get here, find all the worries they had are suddenly lifted.

“We support residents to maintain independence for as long as possible in a comfortable environment that promotes social interaction and reduces the risk of isolation.”
