More than 100 St Neots residents have visited the town's new 'citizen hub' since it opened on July 31.

St Neots Initiative (SNI), which is located at 58 Market Square, aims to help local residents by offering skills, training and job prospects.

SNI chair, Alex Hughes, said: "The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive."

He added that one of the key achievements has been the successful sign-up of more than 50 learners for free skills training courses offered by independent training provider eVolve your future ltd.

These courses include offerings in self-employment, English as a second language, functional skills, and health and safety.

He said the 'citizen hub' has also helped to create local employment opportunities as employers signed up as SNI members now have their job vacancies on display at the hub.

Already, 12 people have showed their interest in finding local employment through the hub.

Throughout August, the hub will be open from 10am to 2pm on weekdays. Full opening hours will start in September.

"We are thrilled with the enthusiastic response and engagement from the St Neots community," added Mr Hughes.
