A commemoration service to mark the 70th anniversary of the Korean War Armistice has been held in Huntingdon.
Huntingdon Town Council organised the event at the Thinking Soldier War Memorial on Huntingdon Market Square on Thursday, July 27.
Huntingdon Mayor Cllr Phil Pearce was joined by Cllr Karl Webb, who is the armed forces champion for Huntingdon Town Council, and representatives of the Huntingdon branch of the Royal British Legion.
Following a welcome by the mayor, Cllr Webb led the commemoration by reciting the Exhortation and this was followed by a one minute's silence. He then recited the Kohima epitaph, before the mayor stepped forward to lay a wreath on behalf of Huntingdon Town Council.
Cllr Karl Webb, armed forces champion for Huntingdon Town Council, said: “As a veteran it is very important to me to remember those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in conflicts and wars throughout the world.
"Families and friends have lost loved ones in the service of their country, in what is often referred to as the 'Forgotten War'. I find that a sad reflection on those who never came home, and we should never forget any of them."
