A new music festival set to take place at the Secret Garden Party site in September has been cancelled.

Organisers of the first ever HighRise Festival announced the event will now not be going ahead “due to unforeseen circumstances”.

A post on its Instagram page on July 5 said: “Our sincerest apologies go out to all the artists, traders, volunteers, crew and ticket holders who were looking forward to the festival as much as we were.”

The four-day festival was due to take place at Grange Farm, in Abbots Ripton between September 8 and 11.

The line up included around 50 reggae and dance acts.

Anyone with tickets to the HighRise Festival could request a refund or exchange it for one to the Secret Garden Party which takes place next weekend (July 20-23).

The post added: “We have managed to secure a deal with Secret Garden Party to offer all of our ticket holders the opportunity to exchange their HighRise ticket for a Secret Garden Party ticket worth £250 at no extra cost.”

Refunds and exchanges were being handled through the ticketing app Fixr.
