The possibility of a splash park coming to St Neots could be edging closer following an announcement that an open presentation regarding the project is taking place.
St Neots Aquatic and Leisure CIO (SNAL) is holding the open presentation tonight (July 13), which will update the public on the splash park plans and the project's progress.
The planning application for the splash park was approved by Huntingdonshire District Council on May 2, which also includes plans to build a toilet block and cafe/kiosk.
The design proposal has been published on a SNAL website, featuring impressions and illustrations of what the splash park is intended to look like

According to the website, SNAL is now trying to raise money to build the splash park.
It said: "The current quote for the build is £795,000.
"The Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) St Neots AQ has already raised £185,000 and is asking St Neots Town Council (SNTC) for a substantial grant of £650,000, which gives £40,000 contingency.
"If we do not use the contingency, we will utilise this with the income from the site to build a café and other facilities on the site."
Speaking to The Hunts Post prior to a SNTC planning meeting last year in November, the chairman of the SNAL trust, Mick Marks, said he hoped construction could start in 2023 if they are allowed access to the grant, which "was promised" back in 2019.

Following SNTC's vote in support of the planning application last November, former mayor of St Neots, Cllr Ben Pitt, said: "I look forward to hearing more detail about how the Town Council can support St Neots Aquatic and Leisure CIO to deliver a splash park that is good value, financially sustainable and will serve the residents of St Neots for many years to come."
The open presentation will take place this evening from 6.30-7.30pm in the Priory Centre, and all of St Neots are welcome to come.
