Train lines at Huntingdon railway station have now reopened after emergency services responded to an incident close to the station earlier this morning (June 23).

The A1307 Hinchingbrooke Park Road and B1514 Brampton Road were also closed in both directions by Cambridgeshire Police to allow them to respond to the incident.

A spokesperson for Cambridgeshire Constabulary said: "A call came into us at 11.25am this morning (Friday, June 23) about a man in a mental health crisis in Brampton Road, Huntingdon.

"We have been working alongside British Transport Police officers, and the man has now been safely detained under the Mental Health Act."

Great Northern reported that all of its train lines between St Neots and Peterborough were blocked due to the incident but have now reopened with no further delays and disruptions.
