In the second part of our Data-Driven series of stories, we compare the Ofsted results for primary schools in Huntingdonshire. You can also use our interactive map to check and compare the schools' Ofsted ratings.

Of the 52 primary schools to have been inspected by Ofsted across Huntingdonshire, 92 per cent of them (48) achieved the top two gradings of 'Good' or 'Outstanding' in their latest inspection reports.

The impressive speight of highly rated schools across the district is reflected in recent data published by Ofsted in November 2022, which highlights that 88 per cent of schools across the country are now rated as ' Good' or 'Outstanding' compared to 68 per cent in 2010.

When Ofsted examines a school, they are judged closely on their quality of teaching, learning and assessment, effective leadership and management, early years provision, personal development and behaviour and welfare and outcomes for pupils.

Five schools, including one special school, achieved the prestigious 'Outstanding' overall grading, which is the highest ranking possible to attain from Ofsted.

This places them schools amongst the best of more than 2,400 'Outstanding' rated primary schools across the country.

Forty-four primary schools in the district received respectable 'Good' ratings from Ofsted, but four other schools were rated as 'Requires Improvement

However, no school in the area was judged as 'Inadequate', which is the lowest of the four gradings.
